Functions of the Frontal Lobe: The prefrontal cortex is important for several behaviors, including decision-making, moral judgments, reasoning, inhibition of inappropriate behavior, and long-term planning. Further, deficits in prefrontal cortex function are apparent in numerous psychological disorders or lead to behaviors that are “risk factors” for a psychological disorder. Describe two lines of evidence identifying areas of the prefrontal cortex as key areas in aberrant behavior and/or psychological disorders.
