produce a 2,000 word reflective learning log based on an aspect/area of your children, young people and families focused work experience which critically assesses your learning and
development as well as considers anti-discriminatory practice and transferable skills.
ASSESSMENT 2 – Reflective log
Your reflective account of 2000 words should include the following:
• An introduction which clearly outlines/provides an overview of the substantial complex issue or piece of work undertaken by you during your practice experience. (eg. Training policies)
• Your main section will follow a reflective cycle to analyse your complex issue, such as Gibbs or Kolb for example. (Compare and contrast, I have attached my nursery journals but only use 3 or 4
reflective models from, Brookfied (1995), Roth (1989), Rolfe’s (1994), Driscoll (1994), Schon (1991), John (2006).
• Your account will briefly describe the issue and specific plan of action you undertook and the results (attached is my issue at the end of my nursery journals, talk about outcomes and
recommendations)
• It will analyse the impact of your actions, making links to models of working and theoretical frameworks from across your foundation degree utilised during the practice experience. (National
legislation, learning to work within a group)
• Assess the micro and macro processes, contrasting national legislation, policies and strategies with local delivery and objectives.
• Reference to anti-discriminatory practice and the professional value base in your analysis
• Critical appraisal of your own practice, actions and behaviours including what you have learnt. (What you have done, what you can do)
• A conclusion which summarises your key learning and how this relates to your future development. (What you learnt applying your experience)
