• Offer a logical, substantial and convincing argument
• Show complexity of analysis
• Demonstrate evidence of wide-ranging research (a minimum of five sources is
expected; see essay question handout for further details).
• Use research material effectively
• Acknowledge the sources with consistent referencing applied to the essay text and inclusion of a reference list.
• Use appropriate university essay format

(1) Your essay must demonstrate evidence of wide-ranging research.
(2) A minimum of 5 sources must be used in this essay.
(3) Of the 5 sources used 3 must be books and the other two can be electronic sources such as the internet. If you use 6 sources then 3 must be books and 3 electronic; if 8 sources used 4 must be books and 4 electronic and so on.
(4) You MUST hand in a draft of the essay (refer to timetable for due date) BEFORE the final copy is due or your final copy will NOT be marked.
